THE 20TH INTERNATIONAL ALPINE FLOWER FESTIVAL ALSO COMES TO TRENTA
JULIANA’S BOTANICAL PEARLS
Tuesday, 2 June 2026, 11:00
As part of the International Alpine Flower Festival, held every year in Bohinj, visitors can also discover rare and fascinating plants in the Juliana Alpine Botanical Garden in the Trenta Valley. Thanks to its lively geological past, diverse bedrock and varied climate, Slovenia is one of Europe’s richest regions for plant diversity. It is home to species that reach the extreme edge of their distribution here, as well as plants that cannot be found outside the country. Many are endangered due to the loss of suitable habitats and are therefore protected. During the guided tour, you will learn about protected, rare and endemic plants thriving in Slovenia.
A bus service from Bohinj will also be provided; for more information, see the page of the International Wild Flower Festival.
